Who We Are
Yoruba Social and Cultural Association of British Columbia is a non-profit organization located in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The association is a black-led organization established in 1998 to cater for the needs of the minority ethnic group of Yoruba origin, living in BC. One of the objectives of the association is to provide, promote and foster good social and cultural relationships and an environment where Yoruba people, Yoruba Canadians and other cultural associations can discuss matters of mutual interest to all cultures.
Over the years, the association has hosted many community events, the latest of which is the ongoing Community Development and Social Integration Program 2022. This program is partly sponsored by Employment and Social Development Canada and intended to educate and empower Black Canadians. Some of the classes offered under this program include Career Mentoring, Computer Literacy, Vocational Skills Education and Cultural Advancement. Over 250 participants have benefited from the program since the commencement in April 2022 and it is estimated that over 800 participants would have benefited from the program when it is completed in December 2022.

Thank you for your interest in the upcoming Metro Vancouver Black Business EXPO 2022 . As part of the Community Development and Social Integration Programs, we are planning a business exposition event tagged “Metro Vancouver Black Business Expo 2022” which will take place on October 22, 2022, at 16079 88 Ave, Surrey BC. This Black Business Expo will be a full day Business exposition event, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for about 50-100 Black Owned Businesses/Organizations to showcase their products and services to the public.

The Green Quarter takes place on Sunday 18th May in The Entertainment Quarter, 122 Lang Rd, Moore Park, NSW 2021.
Everyone’s welcome. The festival is a family fun day celebrating Irish culture and heritage but you don’t have to be Irish to attend or enjoy the festival.
Unless stated explicitly in the event information, the Secretariat do not cover transport costs to and from events. It is your responsibility to arrange transport to and from the event. However, the Secretariat will provide specific information, if necessary, to those attending.
This is a free community funded event; there will be buckets at the park entrance for you to have the opportunity to make a gold coin donation.
To allocate tickets and manage our events we use Eventbrite. To reserve a ticket for an event, you must first register with Eventbrite. When you sign up please make sure that you use the same name and email address that we have on file for you. After you have registered with Eventbrite you will be able to save an event for future reference.
We do not provide details of other attendees to scholars. Please use the Facebook group to enquire about others going and to arrange transport or accommodation.
